Virginia Case Management Community of Practice: HIV and Aging Part 1

The MidAtlantic AIDS Education and Training Center (MAAETC) partners with Ryan White Case Management Programs across the Commonwealth to provide the Virginia Case Management Community of Practice. This program will help case managers share best practices and strategies for keeping clients engaged in care and virally suppressed.

In the Spring 2026 semester, the Community of Practice will provide a 3-part series focusing on case management best practices for HIV and Aging from Case Managers and other healthcare professionals who are part of Virginia Commonwealth University's Creating Interprofessional Readiness for Complex and Aging Adults (CIRCAA) program.

All Community of Practice Calls are from 3pm - 4pm

Part 1: Tuesday, March 17th
Part 2: Tuesday, May 19th 
Part 3: Tuesday, June 16th

Topics covered will include:

  • Understanding basic principles of aging care

  • The 5 M's of Geriatrics

  • Polypharmacy 

  • Psychosocial needs of aging patients

  • Nutrition

  • and more
