Description

Course Description: HIV and Mental Health (MH) training – May is Mental Health Awareness Month.  This webinar will explore how to with individuals with mental health issues (both treated and untreated) and how these issues may impact HIV management.  Impacts of mental health with aging and intimate partner/domestic violence will also be addressed. 

  • Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Describe signs and symptoms of mental health challenges

  • Identify major classes of mental health disorders

  • Examine possible risk factors for mental health challenges including genetics, environment, aging, & intimate partner violence

  • Discuss impact of mental health challenges on HIV management

  • Compare treatment options for mental health disorders

  • Describe best practices for working with individuals with lived experience of mental health issues (both past and present)\work
