About VACAC
The Virginia Quality of Care Consumer Advisory Committee, known as VACAC, is dedicated to fostering a sustainable partnership between healthcare providers and those living with HIV/AIDS. With the support of the Virginia Department of Heath (VDH), VACAC ensures the unique perspectives of the HIV/AIDS community are at the forefront of the quality improvement processes.
Our Mission
Establishing a dynamic partnership with healthcare providers to incorporate the lived experiences of those with HIV/AIDS into all facets of healthcare improvement. Together, with VDH, we aim to give a voice to the HIV/AIDS community in the creation, development, and implementation of essential health services and policies.
Our Goals
Serve as the essential bridge between consumers, VDH, and healthcare providers.
Engage and education the HIV/AIDS community, promoting health and quality of life.
Regularly provide orientations and training about the evolving HIV landscape in Virginia.
Advocate for evidence-based guidelines within the Virginia healthcare practices, striving for a holistic approach for care.
